Episode 9: MSF and Africa's Public Health Crisis

Through my story and those of my amazing guests, I pray that our message touches the lives of people and inspire, encourage and inform on all things faith, empowerment, global health, beloved Mother Africa and chic modest Muslimah fashion topics delivered in bite-sized, fluff-free episodes every Tuesday.

Medecins San Frontieres (MSF) joins The Saibatu Mansaray Journey to discuss the state of affairs in Mother Africa’s public health.  This episode we chat with Dr. Mark Sherlock, medical program manager for MSF projects in Nigeria, Iraq and Jordan. Mark sheds some light on an orofacial gangrenous infection known as noma that MSF is currently addressing in Africa. This infection has a very high mortality rate wherein 9 out of 10 children die if the disease goes unnoticed and untreated in a timely manner.
