BREAKING NEWS (61).png

Tolu is an award winning, International trained, dual qualified, experienced and passionate healthcare professional working hard to drastically reduce Nigeria’s maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity rates by 2025 through health education, advocacy and empowering and supporting expectant couples as they transition to parenthood. As an accomplished senior midwife and nurse with over 10 years clinical and management experience in both the private and public sectors. Tolu has been an outstanding labour ward manager and has a proven ability to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team during obstetric emergencies. Prior to relocating to Nigeria, Tolu completed an MSc in Healthcare Management and worked with the reputable UCL (Department of Nutrition) as a Band 8 Research Midwife studying breastmilk, the nutrients within and factors which affect breastfeeding attitudes.

Tolu truly believes using a consistent health education approach, raising awareness of health deviations from the norm, empowering communities to take responsibility for their health while mapping out a clear pathway to access health services, our health outcomes will certainly improve in a positive way. “I strongly believe my country (Nigeria) is so rich in resources we owe it to ourselves to change the narrative from being “the most dangerous country in the world for maternal care” to a country who performs safe deliveries in line with the world. Our women in both low resource/poor settings and affluent should not be dying from pregnancy related conditions and the power to change this lies in our hands, myself included”.
