The Saibatu Mansaray Journey has been fortunate to have the platform on Africa Young Voices (AYV) Radio 101.7 FM in Sierra Leone for over 3 years!
This platform was created for Sierra Leone to give a voice to the voiceless, raise awareness, and inspire action. Now, with the support of the AYV Network, all of Sierra Leone can join us every Sunday from 12 to 1 PM.
We began this exciting new chapter of our journey in 2021 with a one-on-one interview with U.S. Ambassador to Sierra Leone Maria E. Brewer, discussing bilateral relations and our shared path forward. Since then, the show has featured a mix of inspiring youth, women, religious leaders, health practitioners, advocates, and even our Deputy Minister of Youth.
Tune in every Sunday at 12 PM (GMT) to AYV Radio 101.7 FM, or find me wherever you get your podcasts!
For the past few years, I’ve also been a co-presenter on Sierra Leone’s Voice of Islam radio network—a humbling opportunity to discuss Islamic topics and serve as a reminder every Monday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 PM (GMT) on FM 102.1.
The journey’s on track, and I’m thankful for every moment of the ride!
AMINATA MATERNAL FOUNDATION
In this episode, I get to join my amazing guest THE Aminata Conteh-Biger live in Sydney, Australia! Sydney is now home to Aminata who is originally from Sierra Leone. Aminata was a refugee from Sierra Leone's brutal civil war and her touching story can be found her book, Rising Heart.
In this episode, we chat about maternal mortality in our beloved country Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone has among the highest maternal mortality ratios in the world and sadly our rural women shoulder the burden more than their urban counterparts. Together Aminata and I are on a mission to reduce and end maternal mortality in rural Sierra Leone.
